Will I earn college credit toward a degree if I enroll in a non-credit continuing education program?
No, you will not earn college credit towards any degree at FIU. But non-credit programs can be a stepping-stone for you to decide whether you want to pursue an academic career in the given subject later on.
What is the difference between a certificate of participation and a certification?
A certificate of participation is given for participating in a non-credit continuing education program. A professional certification implies passing an exam that is accredited by an organization/association that monitors the standards for that particular industry, for example, PHR, CPA, PMP, etc.
What is a CEU?
CEU stands for Continuing Education Unit. Per IACET, the International Association for Continuing Education and Training, a CEU is a measurement of non-credit continuing education training.

Are financial aid or payment plans available for non-credit continuing education programs?
No, the majority of non-credit continuing education programs are not eligible for financial aid or payment plans.

Micro-credentials, which can take the form of digital badges, may be aligned to various continuing education opportunities. If there is a digital badge available to be earned, your instructor will provide you with the steps required to earn this badge.
