The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and the Department of Education defines one CEU (Continuing Education Unit) as 10 contact hours of non-credit continuing education training "delivered under responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction." Academic Planning and Accountability - Continuing Education (APA-CE) is the official authority at FIU for granting CEUs. APA-CE has the responsibility for reviewing, approving, reporting, and maintaining permanent records for all CEU activities. In order for a program to be approved for CEUs, please contact the APA-CE for approval guidelines at continue@fiu.edu.
